This Privacy Policy explains what information Gastovia ("we", "us", "Gastovia") collects when you visit gastovia.com, talk to us through the chat, email us, or sign up as a restaurant client. We try to keep this short and human-readable.
1. Who we are
Gastovia is a small, founder-run service that builds branded online shops for independent restaurants. You can reach us at hello@gastovia.com.
2. What we collect
When you visit the website
- Standard log data from our hosting provider (Netlify): IP address, user agent, request URL, timestamp. This is used to operate and protect the site.
- Optional analytics & chat cookies (HubSpot) — only loaded after you click "Accept all" on our cookie banner. If you click "Essentials only", these cookies are not loaded.
When you contact us
- Your name, email, phone (if you give it), and the content of your messages.
- If you start a chat, this is processed by HubSpot on our behalf.
When you become a client
- Restaurant details (legal name, contact people, website, brand assets).
- Billing and payout information necessary to operate your shop (Stripe handles payment data — we don't store full card details).
3. Why we use it
- To answer your questions and run discovery / onboarding calls.
- To set up, operate, and improve your shop if you become a client.
- To understand which pages of the site help restaurants the most (only if you accept analytics cookies).
- To meet legal and accounting obligations.
4. Who sees your data
We use a small number of trusted service providers ("sub-processors") to operate Gastovia:
- Netlify — website hosting
- HubSpot — chat, contact form, CRM
- Google Workspace — email and document storage
- Stripe — payment processing for shop transactions (clients only)
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not run third-party advertising on this website.
5. How long we keep it
- Website logs: typically 30 days.
- Inquiries that don't lead to a client relationship: up to 24 months, then deleted on request or automatically.
- Client data: for the duration of the contract plus the period required by tax/accounting law.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information
- Delete your information ("right to be forgotten")
- Opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information (we do not do this)
- Limit use of sensitive personal information (we don't intentionally collect any)
- Receive a copy of your information in a portable format

For California residents (CCPA/CPRA): you have the rights listed above and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
For EU/UK residents (GDPR): our legal bases are (a) consent for analytics/marketing cookies, (b) performance of a contract for client onboarding, and (c) legitimate interest for keeping the site running. You may also lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.
7. Cookies
We use the minimum cookies needed to operate the site and, with your consent, to power chat and basic analytics. You can change your choice anytime by clearing your browser storage for gastovia.com — the banner will reappear on your next visit.
8. Children
Gastovia is a B2B service for restaurant owners. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
9. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you by email. Continued use of the site means you accept the updated policy.
